Wisdom Way Youth Housing. Supportive transitional, assisted living for homeless or differently-abled youth.
WWYH is a 6-storey midrise of light-frame wood construction that provides living accommodations to marginalized groups of homeless or differently-abled youth. Facing a public library and school, and with complete access to public transit, WWYH is located at the corner of Eglinton Ave W and Jimmy Wisdom Way. With a tenure of assisted and supportive transitional housing, a holistic approach was taken to design accessible and multisensory spaces. In addition to barrier-free spatial design, an exploration of acoustic, olfactive and tactile-based navigation is utilized throughout various building elements to aid those of low hearing or seeing.
